RecompeteRadar

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

1. Who we are

RecompeteRadar is operated by Michael Anthony Mason, trading as RecompeteRadar, the “data controller” responsible for your personal data under UK data-protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data — your name, email address, a hashed password, and (optionally) a home ZIP code you provide for “near me” features.
  • Usage data — the contracts you watch, your searches and preferences, and standard technical data (IP address, browser type, log data) needed to run and secure the Service.
  • Communication preferences — whether you have opted in to our weekly email digest.
  • Payment data — if you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details; we retain only your subscription status and identifiers needed to manage your plan.

3. How and why we use your data

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases:

  • To provide the Service (contract) — creating your account, authenticating you, delivering features, and processing subscriptions.
  • Our legitimate interests — securing the Service, preventing abuse, and improving our features, in a way that does not override your rights.
  • Your consent — sending the optional weekly digest. You can withdraw consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in any digest email or in your settings.
  • Legal obligations — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.

4. Public government records

The contract and solicitation data shown in the Service is sourced from public U.S. government systems (such as USAspending.gov and SAM.gov) and is in the public domain. This data concerns businesses and government awards, and may include information published by those systems. It is not personal data we collect about you, our user; it is public-record data we present and analyse.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers (“processors”) who help us run the Service, under appropriate contracts:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Postmark — sending transactional and digest emails.
  • Our hosting provider — running the servers and database that operate the Service.

We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the Service.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers (for example Stripe and Postmark) are based in, or process data in, the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or an adequacy decision, to protect it.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to run the Service — for example to keep you signed in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, they do not require consent.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, billing records) to meet legal or accounting obligations.

9. Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@recompeteradar.io. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data, though we’d appreciate the chance to help first.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No online service can be completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately to any incident.

11. Children

The Service is intended for business users and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.

13. Contact

For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@recompeteradar.io.
